RICHARDSON, Texas (AP) — A suburban Dallas school district says three siblings who attend an elementary school there have been sent home after health authorities determined they may have had contact with the first person to be diagnosed in the United States with Ebola.

A Richardson Independent School District statement said the district was notified about the connection Thursday by the Dallas County Health and Human Services Department. The district says the Wallace Elementary School students were healthy and had no symptoms but were removed as a precaution.

The Dallas Independent School District sent five students home earlier this week after they may have had contact with the ill man.

Authorities said the students will stay out of school while being monitored for the next three weeks.
