Noel Guides 2-0 Gryphs in Romp
TYNGSBORO -- Quarterback Jake Noel ran for three touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass while leading Greater Lowell Tech to a 38-2 victory over visiting Minuteman Tech in a Commonwealth Athletic Conference Small School football game Saturday afternoon.
Greater Lowell 38, Minuteman 2
Noel finished his big day with a game-high 138 yards rushing as the Gryphons improved their record to 2-0, thanks in large part to a suffocating defensive effort that had Minuteman back on its heels all day long.
The Gryphons have a big CAC matchup at Shawsheen Tech on Friday night.
Noel relied on his arm on Greater Lowell’s first touchdown. He hooked up with Dylan Bishop on an 11-yard TD pass to give Greater Lowell a 6-0 lead in the first quarter.
Greater Lowell broke the game open in the second quarter, ripping off 29 points to build a commanding 35-0 halftime advantage.
Benji Hach ripped off a 79-yard TD run and Devin Farrell kicked the conversion to give the Gryphons a 13-0 lead. Hach finished with 125 yards rushing.
Noel then scored touchdowns on runs of 62, 13 and 5 yards to complete the second-quarter onslaught.
Farrell kicked a 24-yard field goal in the third quarter to complete the Greater Lowell scoring.
Matthew Gaudette had 32 yards rushing on four carries as the Grypons compiled 308 of their 319 yards of total offense on the ground.
