Man struck, killed after fight at Leominster bar

August 5, 2013

LEOMINSTER, Mass. (AP) — Authorities continue to look for the driver of a vehicle they say struck and killed an Oxford man outside a Leominster bar over the weekend.

The Worcester district attorney’s office said 33-year-old David Szafarowicz was involved in a fight with several other customers inside the Captain’s Lounge early Saturday morning.

Authorities allege that one of those people was the driver of the Jeep. The victim was pronounced dead at about 1 a.m. Saturday.

Leominster police said Sunday they plan to release video footage related to the case in the coming days.

The bar’s owner refused comment, citing the ongoing police investigation.
