Constable’s Office seeks brazen daytime burglar

March 14, 2019

A burglar who stopped his vehicle in front of a residence, walked up a driveway and stole items from an unlocked SUV is being sought by investigators with the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office.

According to Constable Ted Heap’s office, the entire incident was captured on home surveillance.

“The burglary occurred just before 12 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, at the victim’s home in the 800 block of Wycliffe in the Memorial area,” according to the Constable’s Office. “Shortly after the resident parked in her driveway and ran inside her home, the burglar pulled up, exited his SUV and casually approached the victim’s vehicle. He rummaged through the victim’s belongings, stealing a blue backpack, several gift cards, some clothing and cash.”

Investigators describe the suspect as a white male in his early to late 20s. In the video surveillance, he was observed wearing a white baseball cap, tan cargo shorts and a gray T-shirt. Also captured on video, the suspect “appears to be driving a white 2010-2012 Infiniti FX35 and was last seen driving south on Wycliffe toward Memorial Drive.”

This is the second case in which the same suspect is alleged to be involved. The first incident was on the morning of Feb. 24 in the 300 block of West Gaywood Drive, in the same general area as the Feb. 28 incident.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or who may have any information is asked to contact Investigator L. Longshore at 281-463-6666 or submit a tip at https://constablepct5.com/index.php/online-crime-tips.
