Post Holdings: Fiscal 4Q Earnings Snapshot

ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Post Holdings Inc. (POST) on Thursday reported a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of $15.6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the St. Louis-based company said it had a loss of 26 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $1.08 per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.21 per share.

The cereal maker posted revenue of $1.63 billion in the period, matching Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported profit of $457.3 million, or $6.16 per share. Revenue was reported as $6.26 billion.

Post Holdings shares have risen 15 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $90.90, an increase of 15 percent in the last 12 months.
