Police: Old Forge Woman Attempted To Kill Elderly Aunt

January 25, 2019

An Old Forge woman is facing charges after police said she tried to murder her aunt in November. Carrie Eliza Trowbridge, 55, 107 Amity Ave., Old Forge, is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, neglect of a dependent person, kidnapping and other charges. Trowbridge’s aunt, Josephine Delucia, is dependent on oxygen, and Trowbridge kept her in a car for up to 10 hours with only one tank of oxygen, police said. A single tank normally only lasts about an hour. When Delucia struggled to breathe, Trowbridge closed the car windows, blasted the heat and pinched Delucia’s nose. She told her aunt, “I want you to die, old woman. You need to die,” police said. At the time, Trowbridge was a beneficiary of Delucia. Delucia also reported that her niece stole $15,145 from her, according to police. Check back for updates.
