April 14, 2019

Scene… More than 800 friends and supporters attended the annual luncheon to benefit Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s Fund for Women & Girls, held at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich last week. Former Greenwich resident and actress Tracee Ellis Ross, daughter of Greenwich resident and Motown diva Diana Ross, served as keynote speaker. The event raised nearly $600,000 to support of economically secure, safe and healthy women and girls throughout the county. Established in 1998 by a small group of visionary women, the fund pioneered by Anne Leonhardt has invested over $7 million in sustainable solutions, and is now New England’s largest women’s fund. In honor of her legacy, the second Anne S. Leonhardt Award was given to long-standing supporter Vicki Craver for her community leadership and philanthropic efforts to strengthen Fairfield County. Net proceeds from the event will benefit The Fund for Women & Girls’ programmatic work, including the Family Economic Security Program at Housatonic Community College.
