FLORENCE, S.C. – The 68th annual Eastern Carolina Agriculture Fair is scheduled to begin Friday, and it will run through Saturday, Aug. 25.
This year’s fair will feature the Ives Brothers’ Wall of Death, the Human Cannonball Thrill Show, the Great Lakes Timber Show, a Robot Ranger beginning Wednesday, Aug. 22, all-American pig races and a petting zoo. A complete schedule of events is available on the fair’s website.
There will be 35 amusement rides furnished by Amusements of America at the fair.
Gates and rides will open at 4 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Gates and rides will open at 4 p.m. from Aug. 20 through Aug. 24. On Aug. 25, games and rides will open at 10 a.m.
On Thursday, Aug. 23, the fair will host a senior citizen morning with registration at 9 a.m. followed by entertainment at 10 a.m. and a bag lunch at noon.
There is no specific closing time for the fair. If at around 9 p.m., there is still a crowd in the fairgrounds, the fair will continue.
On every day except Monday, Aug. 20, and Wednesday, Aug. 22, admission prices are $4 for children ages 3-11 and $8 for those 12 and above. Children 2 and under get in free every day. On every day except Monday, Aug. 20 and Thursday, Aug. 23, a $25 unlimited rides hand stamp will be available.
Monday, Aug. 20, is $2 Day at the fair. Admissions prices are $2 for those ages 3 and above. Children under three get in free. Also, rides cost $2 each that day.
Wednesday, Aug. 22, is Pepsi Cola Kids Day. Children from ages 3-11 are charged $2 admission.
Megapasses are also available for $20 through Thursday that allow admission for one day of the fair and unlimited rides on that day.
The fair will be held at the Eastern Carolina Agricultural Fairgrounds at 5226 E. Palmetto St.
