Alinda Louise (Tucker) Cobb, 69 of Kankakee, passed away Sept. 26, 2018, at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Jones Funeral Home in Kankakee. An additional time for visitation will be from 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, until the 10 a.m. funeral service, also at the funeral home. Pastor Tyler J. Prude is the officiant, and the Rev. Jimmy West is the eulogist. Interment will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory, Kankakee.
She was born May 1, 1949, in Columbus, Miss., the daughter of Nise and Annie Louise Rice Tucker. She was employed at Shapiro Developmental Center as a mental health technician 4.
Alinda was married to Eddie Lee Cobb on Jan. 21, 1976, in Kankakee. He preceded her in death Jan. 5, 2018.
She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking.
Surviving are her sons, Aries (Jaresha) Strickland and Efrem Cobb, all of Kankakee; stepson, Eddie Lee Shafer, of Chicago; her brothers, Duane (Kathy) Tucker, of Kankakee, and Rickey Tucker Sr., of Bourbonnais; her sisters, Alma (Marvin) Birdsong, Florence Farrell, Patricia (Thomas) Eubanks, all of Kankakee, Janice (DeWayne) Farrell, of Dallas, and Marsha (Mitchell) Ledbetter, of Bourbonnais; grandchildren, Kheniya and Aries Jr., of Kankakee; brother-in-law, Thaddus Cobb, of Florida; sisters-in-law, Tabytha (Samuel) Dunigan, of Kankakee, and Dorothy M. Brooks, of Las Vegas; aunt, uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marilyn Tucker; grandparents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
