LAOH Adopts A Family

Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, St. John Neumann Division I, Luzerne County, participated in the Catherine McAuley House Adopt-A-Family program. This year, the division had a family of four, three children ranging in age from one to five. Toys and clothes were purchased for the children. Each child received nine gifts. A gift for the household was presented to the mother. Mary Ann and Nancy Amesbury did all of the shopping and wrapping of gifts. LAOH is an organization of Roman Catholic women of Irish descent. Yearly donations are made to the Catherine McAuley House, McGlynn Learning Center, CYC Daycare, St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, Valley Santa, and the United Way Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
