No. 3 Colorado 89, Nebraska 76
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) _ Reagan Scott scored 20 points, including 14 in the first half, to lead No. 3 Colorado to an 89-76 victory over Nebraska Friday night in Big Eight women’s basketball.
It was the Buffaloes’ fifth straight win over Nebraska and Colorado’s biggest over the Cornhuskers since a 91-71 victory in 1987.
Colorado (21-2, 11-0 Big Eight) controlled the opening tipoff, but Nebraska (11-13, 2-10) scored on its first four possessions for a 9-4 lead. Colorado took its first lead after a 3-point shot by Andrea Slokar at 16:15 of the first half.
Colorado twice led by as many as 18 points in the first half and held a 46-33 advantage at the intermission.
Colorado outshot Nebraska 58 percent to 45 percent from the field. Nebraska ended the night with a 64 percent to 61 percent advantage from 3-point range.
Isabell Fijalkowski scored 16 points off Colorado and De Celle Thomas and Shelley Sheetz each added 11.
Nebraska was led by Pyra Aarden with 21 points. Anna DeForge was the only other Nebraska player to score in double figures, with 15.
