Officials to consider intersection improvements after crash
ASPEN, Colo. (AP) — State and county officials are planning to meet to discuss ways to improve a Colorado intersection where a crash killed a longtime NBA agent.
The Aspen Daily News reports the Colorado Department of Transportation and Pitkin County are planning to meet in the coming weeks to consider the safety of the intersection with state Highway 82 north of Aspen.
Authorities say 56-year-old Dan Fegan died Sunday after his SUV was struck by a bus while attempting to cross the highway. Fegan’s son and a woman were injured in the crash.
Multiple fatal wrecks have occurred at the intersection. Efforts have been made in the past to improve its safety.
County commissioner Greg Poschman says adding warning signs to Smith Hill Way may be a way to address the concerns.
