October 5, 1996

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) _ Jeremiah Greathouse kicked a 26-yard field goal and Chris Parsons returned a blocked field-goal attempt 75 yards for a touchdown as Penn beat Bucknell 30-21 in double-overtime.

Bucknell (1-3) tied the game late in the fourth quarter on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Jim Fox to Ronnie Rockett. In overtime, they went ahead on a 10-yard Fox pass to tight end Cal Wilcox.

But Penn (3-1) answered with a 23-yard pass from Steve Teodecki to John Riccho. They won the coin toss to start the second overtime and scored on Greathouse’s field goal.

Bucknell’s next drive stalled, and Penn’s Roger Beckwith blocked a 25-yard field goal attempt by Rich Miller. Parsons scooped up the loose ball and ran for the touchdown to seal the win.

The Bison had a chance to win late in the fourth quarter, but Penn’s James Finn intercepted Fox with 20 seconds left, forcing overtime.

Penn’s Jasen Scott led all rushers with 136 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. Fox completed 22 of 36 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns for Bucknell.
