City Man Charged in Assault of His Sister
LOWELL — Two alleged assailants arrested over the weekend were arraigned in Lowell District Court on Monday.
An 18-year-old Lowell resident was arrested Sunday by Lowell police for the alleged assault and battery of his sister, Amanda Cruz.
Isaac Cruz, who lives at 162 Branch St., was arraigned by Judge Joanne Sragow.
He was released without bail under the condition that he make no direct contact with his sister, and keep 100 feet away from her and her Lowell residence. Cruz lives nearly two miles away from his sister.
The defendant will attend a pretrial hearing on July 23, and faces a penalty of no more than 2 ½ years in prison or $1000 in fine.
A landlord was arrested by Chelmsford police on Friday for the alleged assault and battery of her second-floor tenant.
Kristen Rangel, who is 50 years old, owns the apartment building at 55 Robin Hill Rd. in Chelmsford, and lives on the first floor.
Judge Sragow released Rangel without bail on the condition that she stay away from the second floor, where the victim lives.
Rangel is scheduled to return for a pretrial hearing on June 20.
