Special Olympian Aaron Keller Honored At State Capitol

May 3, 2019

Special Olympians from throughout Pennsylvania were in Harrisburg recently to be recognized for their accomplishments. Among the athletes was Aaron Keller, 21, of Dorrance Twp., who brought the gold and silver medals he earned earlier this year at the Special Olympics World Games held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. While at the capitol, he met with state Sen. Lisa Baker, who introduced the Luzerne County Community College student during a Senate session. In March, upon his return from the World Games, a parade was held in his honor in Mountain Top. Keller, a 2017 graduate of Crestwood High School, serves as an assistant coach for the school’s cross country and track teams. He earned a gold medal in the 10,000 meter run, a silver medal in the 1500 meter run, and another silver medal in the 400 meter relay.
