Darlington County investigators seize drugs and cash, arrest man
DARLINGTON, S.C. – Investigators for the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office seized drugs and $2,300 in cash Wednesday at a residence on Cedar Creek Road, according to Sheriff Tony Chavis.
Investigators with the Drug Enforcement Unit served a search warrant in the Dovesville community around 5 p.m., Chavis said.
He said they seized approximately 7.5 grams of methamphetamine, 59 grams of cocaine, 4.5 grams of crack cocaine, 84 grams of marijuana and $2,300.
Michael Rakeem Smith, 27, was arrested and taken to the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center. Investigators will seek charges of trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, according to the sheriff.
