BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) _ Ryan Hughes’ power-play goal in the second period lifted the Cornwall Aces to a 2-2 tie with the Binghamton Rangers in the American Hockey League Friday night.

Hughes one-timed a cross-ice pass from Paxton Schulte for the game-tying goal at 3:10 of the second.

Binghamton (23-13-6) took a 1-0 lead at 2:27 of the first with a goal from Jean-Yves Roy. Rene Corbet pulled Cornwall (19-17-7) to a 1-1 tie on a one-timer from low in the right faceoff circle at 7:52 of the first.

The Rangers’ Barry Richter scored 30 seconds into the second period to give Binghamton a 2-1 lead before Hughes’ goal brought the tie.

Binghamton goalie Corey Hirsch stopped 27 of 29 shots. Garth Snow stopped 23 of 25 for the Aces.
