Police: Man tried to set Bronx deli on fire

NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police are searching for a man they say tried to set a Bronx deli on fire following a dispute with an employee.

WABC-TV reports the incident happened Sunday at a deli in the Wakefield section of the Bronx. Police say the suspect got into an argument with a clerk and threw beer at him around 6 a.m. Authorities say the clerk was able to push the man out of the store.

Police say suspect returned later in the day with flammable liquid. Authorities say the man spread the liquid around the store and lit it on fire. A store employee quickly extinguished the fire.

The employee wasn’t hurt.
