California man arrested on drug sale charges
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on Aug. 17, on Interstate Highway 15. The vehicle was traveling at 85 miles per hour in a 75-mile-per-hour zone, and according to deputies, was observed to have swerved through several lanes of traffic while traveling. Deputies conducted a traffic stop, and the driver, of Reseda, California, was asked to exit the vehicle for questioning.
According to deputies, the driver, 24-year-old Johnny Velazquez, appeared to have been visibly nervous while speaking with deputies, and a K9 was brought to the scene. A search of the vehicle allegedly yielded more than a liter of marijuana oil, 0.76 kilograms of marijuana, 135 grams of marijuana wax, 411 grams of THC gummy candies, one gram of methamphetamine, marijuana seeds, four ounces of THC syrup, a firearm and $500 cash.
Velasquez was arrested at the scene on charges of possession of marijuana for sale, transportation of marijuana, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, transportation of narcotic drugs, possession of a weapon during a drug offense and one misdemeanor count of driving without a valid driver’s license.
