ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Anchorage police have released the name of a man found shot and mortally wounded last week in a car on the city's east side.

Police say the man was 35-year-old Jonathon Smith.

Police shortly before 9:30 a.m. Aug. 14 received reports of a shooting on Muldoon Circle. They found Smith wounded in the driver's seat of a 2008 tan Chrysler 300 with the license plate CREEPN.

Smith had suffered life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a hospital and he died on Wednesday, two days later.
