Madeira Islands Open reduced to 54 holes due to strong winds
SANTO ANTONIO DA SERRA, Portugal (AP) — Organizers have reduced the Madeira Islands Open to 54 holes and suspended play on Thursday because of high winds sweeping the Portuguese archipelago.
No players managed to take to the Clube de Golf Santo da Serra course.
Round one has been rescheduled to start on Friday.
Last year, heavy fog during the first three days of the event forced organizers to reduce it to 36 holes.
