Belchertown, Peabody men die in unrelated traffic crashes
NEW SALEM, Mass. (AP) — State police say a 67-year-old Belchertown man has died in a head-on crash on U.S. Route 202 in New Salem.
In an unrelated incident, a Peabody man died in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 south in Peabody.
Investigators say Richard Marsh was headed south on Route 202 just after 3 p.m. Monday when he collided with a northbound box truck. Marsh died at the hospital. The driver of the truck, a 23-year-old Greenfield man, was uninjured.
At about the same time in Peabody, a tow truck driven by 43-year-old William Choquette went out of control and crashed. Choquette, who was not belted in, was ejected and died at the hospital.
Choquette’s passenger and the driver of one of the other vehicles were also hurt.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
