JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) _ Receiver Patrick Plott made a miraculous, one-handed catch in the endzone as time expired to give Jacksonville State a 32-27 win over Western Illinois on Saturday.

The catch came just moments after Western Illinois quarterback Jeff Hecklinski threw a 22-yard TD pass to wideout Gunnard Twyner, giving the Leathernecks a 27-26 lead with 50 seconds left.

Western Illinois (4-6), which trailed by 13 points with less than five minutes remaining in the game, had earlier cut the lead to 26-20 on a 1-yard run by Brain Knuckles.

Jacksonville State (7-3) quarterback Dejarius Isaac kept the winning drive alive with a 13-yard fourth down pass to Plott, then found halfback Jason Reynolds on an 11-yard completion to the Western Illinois 42 to set up the final play.

Isaac had come off the bench to rush for a pair of touchdowns on runs of 5 and 3 yards before connecting on the game-winning pass.

He shared time with sophomore Lewis Battle, who started at quarterback for the first time in his career and rushed for a game-high 85 yards on 19 carries.
