Longmont Police Search for Suspect in Early Morning Stabbing

Longmont police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the 2200 block of Pratt Street around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

A man was involved in an “altercation” and was stabbed, according to Longmont police Sgt. Todd Chambers.

The victim, who police are not identifying, was taken to Longmont United Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Police have not identified a suspect at this time, but Chambers said investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the general public.

Chambers would not provide more information about the altercation or what prompted the stabbing, and he would not say whether the suspect is a man or a woman, or provide any other information about that person.

He also would not say whether the suspect and the victim know each other.
