May 15, 2019

A 24-year-old drunk driver is in Noble County Jail today after killing a bicyclist Tuesday night, police said.

Officers were called to West County Road 1200 North in Ligonier about 9:35 p.m. Tuesday and found Topeka resident Richard Miller, 23, dead from his injuries, according to a news release.

The driver, 24-year-old Faron Yoder of Ligonier, was traveling east on CR 1200 in a tan 2017 Nissan Altima when he hit Miller, police said.

Yoder didn’t suffer any obvious injuries, officers said, but was taken to a hospital unresponsive because of his intoxication.

The incident remains under investigation.
