Man injured while snorkeling in Oahu dies
HONOLULU (AP) — Authorities have released the identity of a man who died after becoming injured while snorkeling in Windward Oahu.
According to KHON-TV (http://bit.ly/17nGu29), the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office said Tuesday 73-year-old Kazuo Takino of Osaka, Japan died after nearly drowning.
The Honolulu Emergency Services Department says Takino was snorkeling near Heeia Kea Pier around 2 p.m. Monday when he somehow was critically injured.
Emergency workers say he was brought to shore and given CPR before being taken to a hospital.
The medical examiner has not released the official cause of death.
