Twin brothers charged in assault at Detroit restaurant
DETROIT (AP) — Twin 61-year-old brothers have been charged in an assault that took place earlier this month at a Detroit restaurant.
Wayne County prosecutor Kym Worthy’s office says Dwight and Duane Samuels face assault with intent to murder and assault with intent to do great bodily harm, along with weapons charges. They were charged Sunday morning.
Authorities allege the brothers entered a Coney Island restaurant around 2 a.m. last Wednesday and argued with patrons inside. They allegedly attacked a 40-year-old man, who was beaten with a pipe and subsequently shot in the face.
The brothers allegedly fled the scene and were later located by police.
Listed phone numbers for Dwight and Duane Samuels couldn’t be located Sunday. It was immediately unclear if they had attorneys.
