Police: Pedestrian struck by car in Warwick last week dies
WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — A pedestrian struck by a car in Warwick last week has died.
Police say 68-year-old David Quinn died in the hospital Tuesday after being struck Friday morning.
Quinn was in a crosswalk as he tried to cross Greenwich Avenue near the Greenwich Village Apartments. Police say he lived in the area and was on his way to the store at about 7:30 a.m.
Police previously said they do not think excessive speed, distracted driving or alcohol impairment was involved, but rather the driver was affected by solar glare. The driver stayed at the scene and called 911.
No charges were filed.
