Teen indicted in fatal shooting of 16-year-old student
SOMERVILLE, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say a teenager has been indicted on manslaughter and assault charges in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in suburban Boston.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said Tuesday that 17-year-old Jonathan Perry will be arraigned Wednesday in Cambridge Juvenile Court. He was indicted as a youthful offender, making him subject to adult sentences. His case is open to the public.
Officers had found Tenzin Kunkhyen, of Malden, suffering from a gunshot wound at a Somerville home on Aug. 29. He died at an area hospital.
Ryan says Perry fled the scene after the shooting. He was taken into custody on Sept. 5 in Arlington.
Kunkhyen was a student at Malden High School.
It’s unclear whether Perry is being represented by an attorney.
