VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Cuttino Mobley scored 16 points as the Houston Rockets overcame a poor shooting performance for an 82-75 victory over the Vancouver Grizzlies on Monday night.

Steve Francis added 15 points for the Rockets, who won despite shooting 41 percent.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim scored 26 points for Vancouver, which shot 38 percent and lost its third straight.

The Grizzlies’ Ike Austin missed the game because of the flu and guard Michael Dickerson sprained his foot four minutes into the game.

The Grizzlies hit five of their first seven shots, but converted only three of their next 18 for a 39-34 lead at halftime.

Vancouver missed its first 13 shots in the first half.

Abdur-Rahim made his first three shots of the second half. The Grizzlies shot 3-for-15 from the field in the third period, but trailed by just two points, 54-52, after three quarters.

Houston moved out to a seven-point lead, 59-52, and expanded that lead to 11 points later in the quarter.

Reserve Matt Bullard hit three, 3-pointers and finished with 12 points as the Rockets’ bench outscored Vancouver’s reserves 42-24. Kenny Thomas grabbed 12 rebounds for Houston.

The win moved Houston coach Rudy Tomjanovich within one victory of 400 coaching wins. Tomjanovich, ninth among active NBA coaches in career victories, will try for No. 400 at Golden State on Thursday.

Notes: Center Tony Massenburg made his first start for Vancouver since May 5, 1999. He played a season-best 17 minutes. ... Vancouver fans continually booed Houston’s Francis, who caused an uproar when the Grizzlies made him their first pick of the 1999 draft. ... Attendance was announced at 12,125. ... Shandon Anderson surpassed the 1,000 rebound mark. ... Vancouver plays host to Seattle on Wednesday.
