NEW YORK (AP) _ More than 300 firefighters battled a blaze Wednesday at a furniture factory. Two firefighters sustained minor injuries, authorities said.

Firefighters began battling the four-alarm fire at 1:30 a.m. at the Gothic Cabinet Craft factory in the Astoria, Queens, fire department officials said.

The building was empty when the fire started.

No other injuries were reported, and nearby buildings were unaffected.

Mayor Rudolph Giuliani said firefighters _ who lost more than 300 colleagues in the World Trade Center terrorist attack _ were up to the task.

``This is what they normally do. This is their job, and they do it better than anybody else in the whole world,'' Giuliani told WABC-TV. ``So in some ways, this is like a return to normal for them although a terrible tragedy for anybody else.''

The cause of the fire was unknown.
