PROACT hosts public open house

HUNTINGTON — Though the region’s addiction treatment hub has been operational for about a month at the corner of 20th Street and 8th Avenue, PROACT hosted the public at a grand opening ceremony and open house Wednesday evening in Huntington.

PROACT, or Provider Response Organization for Addiction Care and Treatment, was created to address the clinical, behavioral, spiritual and professional issues of those affected by substance use. It functions as the centralized hub for treatment, recovery, therapy, education, research, workforce opportunities and support for those affected by addiction.

PROACT’s goal is to offer individuals and their families a viable system that provides positive outcomes. Partner institutions within PROACT include Cabell Huntington Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Marshall Health, Valley Health and Thomas Health.

The facility accepts referrals and walk-ins for substance use disorder. For more information, call 304-696-8700.
