Candidates forum set for Tuesday
A forum that will include candidates for offices in state legislative districts 10, 39 and 40 will be held Tuesday at Sedro-Woolley High School.
The forum will run 7 to 9:30 p.m. in the school’s gym.
Nonprofit public interest group Common Threads Northwest, which is sponsoring the forum, expects 10 of the 12 candidates in the six contested races in the three districts to attend.
Also expected are the two candidates for Skagit Public Utility District commissioner and the two for the local state appellate court judge seat.
The forum will also include brief discussions on the four statewide initiatives on the ballot — 940, 1631, 1634 and 1639 — and on the Skagit County charter measure.
The forum will be broadcast on KAPS radio (660 AM, 102.1 FM).

The Anacortes Chamber of Commerce will hold a candidates forum from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Anacortes Lutheran Church, 2100 O Ave. The event will include a moderator and Q&A from the audience, with candidates from contested races and noncontested races.
The League of Women’s Voters of Skagit County will host a ballot issue night and educational forum focusing on the charter government measure from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Skagit Public Utility District, 1415 Freeway Drive, Mount Vernon.
Home Rule Skagit will host a slideshow and Q&A on the county charter measure at 7 p.m. at the Burlington Public Library, 820 E. Washington Ave.
