KISSEMMEE, Fla. (AP) _ Gerald Young went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs as Houston scored 12 times in the fifth and sixth innings en route to a 13-3 exhibition win over the Los Angeles Dodgers Saturday.

With two out in the fifth, Young doubled. Rafael Ramirez followed with an RBI double, Kevin Bass walked, and Cesar Cedeno had a two-run triple to make it 4-1.

The Astros sent 14 batters to the plate in the sixth inning, scoring nine runs on seven hits, three walks and an error. Dodgers reliever Dan Scarpetta started the inning and faced six batters, but got nobody out.

Alan Ashby opened the inning with an infield hit off Scarpetta’s leg and was followed by singles from Chuck Jackson and Casey Candaele, who drove in pinch runner Trent Hubbard.

Ron Washington hit a sacrifice fly to left, but John Shelby lost it in the sun, allowing both Jackson and Candaele to score. Young followed with a two- run single to make it 6-1.

Chris Jones came on in relief for Scarpetta to retire Kevin Bass and Cedeno on pop flies, but walked Billy Hatcher to load the bases. Jackson followed with a two-RBI single to score Young and Ramirez to make it 11-1.

Candaele walked and Washington hit a two-run double to make it 13-1.

The Dodgers scored two runs in the ninth off reliever Juan Agosto.

Astros starter Rick Rhoden gave up two hits over four innings and combined with winner Roger Mason, Dave Stapleton, Dave Johnson and Agosto on a seven- hitter.

Ricky Horton took the loss in relief of starter Tim Leary.
