Bengals TE Tyler Eifert suffered gruesome leg injury, carted off

September 30, 2018

If Tyler Eifert didn’t have bad luck, he’d have no luck at all.

The Cincinnati Bengals tight end appeared to suffer a gruesome injury in the third quarter of the game Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. Eifert caught a 2-yard pass from Andy Dalton but then went down in a heap after being tackled by Falcons linebacker De’Vondre Campbell.

Eifert suffered an injury to his lower right leg, had it placed in an air cast and then was carted off the field. The bone appeared to be broken, as it jutted out sideways.

Earlier in the game, Eifert caught his first TD since Week 14 of the 2016 season, one of his four grabs for 28 yards. He entered the game with 11 catches for 141 yards, which was third on the Bengals.

Injuries have plagued him throughout this career, namely a serious back injury that limited him to two games in 2017 and eight in 2016.
