Tomcats post win against Lions
The Herald-Dispatch ASHLAND — Devaunte Robinson’s 21 points led Ashland in a 66-53 boys basketball victory Saturday at home against Boyd County, 66-53. Ethan Sellers added 13 points for the Tomcats (7-7).
Hunter Mays led the Lions (9-6) with 13 points.
IRONTON ST. JOE 52, PORTSMOUTH N.D. 48: The Flyers (8-2) were led by three players in double figures as J.C. Damron scored 13, Zach Roach 12 and Jimmy Mahlmeister 11 in a road victory over the Titans. Ben Mader paced Portsmouth Notre Dame with 13 points, followed by Jackson Clark and Cole Harrell each with 10.
WHEELERSBURG 70, PORTSMOUTH 57: Tanner Holden scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Pirates (9-0) to a road win over the Trojans. Connor Mullins scored 20 and Trent Salyers 10. Matthew Fraulini scored 23 for Portsmouth (5-4). Danny Lattimore scores 14.
LINCOLN CO. 84, TUG VALLEY 73: Tanner Walls poured in 22 points to power Lincoln County to a road victory in a battle of Panthers. Kadin Becheimer scored 17 and Hunter Hill 16 for Lincoln County. Ian Reed led Tug Valley with 17 points. Ethan Colegrove scored 16 and Caleb May 13.
LEWIS CO. 56, RUSSELL 55: Tanner Willis’ free throw with 0.5 seconds left gave the Lions a victory over the Red Devils in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Seth Wright scored 23 for Lewis County (10-6). Sam O’Keefe added 15. Charlie Jachimczuk led Russell (4-11) with 29 points.
ROWAN CO. 66, ASHLAND 55: Promise Cross scored 24 and Haven Ford 16 in the Vikings’ (10-3) victory over the Kittens (9-4) in Morehead, Kentucky. Morgan Bradley scored 17 for Ashland. Mikayla Martin chipped in 14.
