Kankakee police investigated a burglary to a home in the 400 block of Country Club Drive on Sept. 4. The front door was kicked in and a refrigerator, stove and copper pipe were missing.

Criminal sexual abuse

Bradley police arrested Bailey Caldwell, 21, of Monee, for aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a juvenile on Sept. 2. According to a prosecutor, the mother contacted police after she walked into her daughter’s room and found her and Caldwell having sex on Aug. 9. A judge set Caldwell’s bond at $75,000.


Bradley police arrested Joseph W. Bednarczyk, 21, of Manteno, for driving under the influence if alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with blood/breath alcohol content greater than .08 on Sept. 2. According to a report, Bednarczyk was found asleep in his vehicle in the Walmart parking lot, 2080 North State Highway, at 3:32 a.m. An officer smelled alcohol coming from inside the vehicle as well on Bednarczyk’s breath. Following field sobriety tests, Bednarczyk agreed to a preliminary breath test and registered a .113 breath alcohol content. He agreed to another breath tests at the station, which registered .100. Bednarczyk was released from Jerome Combs Detention Center after posting the required bond.

Bourbonnais police Terrance A. Heinze Jr., 40, of Bourbonnais, for driving under the influence of alcohol on Sept. 1. According to a report, Heinze’s vehicle was stopped after an officer clocked it going 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. Heinze posted the required bond and was released at the station.

Possession of controlled substance

Watseka police arrested Angela Jantz, 38, Watertown, Wis., for possession of a controlled substance, criminal trespass to land, possession of narcotic instrument, resisting arrest and obstructing identification on Sept. 2. According to a report, officers were called to a home in the 200 block of West Flemming at 10:09 a.m. for a subject trespassing.

Shots fired

Kankakee police took a report of a vehicle’s back window damaged in the 1800 block of East Duane Boulevard at 11:11 p.m. on Sept. 1. According to a report, four spent shell casing and another projectile were found. Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of East Meadowview Drive at 10:18 p.m. for a report of shots fired. A vehicle believed to have been in the area at the time of the shots fired was stopped. The male driver was arrested for driving while license suspended.
