A last minute wedding
One local couple was scheduled to be married Saturday, with wedding festivities in Woodland Hills, but the fire forced them to change their plans at the last minute.
Not only was their venue not going to work, the wedding supplies did not make it out of the evacuation zone with them.
According to Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox, with simple posts on social media, local residents came to the rescue and provided a venue, catering for lunch and dinner, decorations, a DJ, tables and chairs, a cake, cash funds and desserts for the couple’s wedding reception.
“We’re estimating around $5,000,” said Cox’s chief of staff Kristen Rappleye.
The groom’s mother shared to the Woodland Hills, Utah Facebook group, “Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for the overwhelming love and generosity we received.”
