Westover bus carrying students scrapes parked ambulance
STAMFORD — A bus full of students grazed a parked ambulance on Myano Lane Monday afternoon.
According to police, there were 34 children on the bus, which had a sheet of paper with “Westover 168” taped to one of the side windows.
No one was injured, but the collision did cause damage to the ambulance, according to police.
“That intersection is so tight,” said Sgt. Robert Shawinsky. “People park on both sides of the road.”
The location of the accident is only a few feet away from the Westover Magnet Elementary School, so school bus transportation is not normally needed. However, because of mold found at Westover, students from the school have been transported to a temporary location.
Westover students have been attending school at the former Pitney Bowes headquarters on Elmcroft Road, which is over two miles away from the school.
