Sharks third at Fairfield meet

FAIRFIELD — Harrisburg played the numbers game as the Bullfish won a Triangular meet Tuesday against Wabash Valley and host Fairfield in summer swimming action.

Harrisburg won the overall meet with a 704 after scoring 352 points in both the boys and girls’ meets. Fairfield finished second with a combined score of 454 after a girls’ score of 324 and a boys’ mark of 130. Wabash Valley wound up third with 156 points with the Sharks pulling in 99 points for the boys’ races and 57 in the girls’ events.

Willow Trail finished second in the 6U 25 SC meter freestyle with a time of 54.45. Trail was also second in the 25 SC meter backstroke with a time of 1:15.44.

Naomi Knapp was second with a time of 24:09 in the 8U 25 SC meter freestyle. Knapp finished fourth in the 25 SC meter backstroke with a time of 30.72 and fourth in the 50 SC meter freestyle with a time of 1:05.88.

Knapp finished eighth in 25 SC meter breaststroke with a time of 45.26.

Jordan Freeland was seventh in the boys 8-and-under 25 SC meter freestyle after finishing with a time of 34.39. Freeland was fifth in the 25 SC meter backstroke with a time of 38.32 and third with a time of 1:17.14 in the 50 SC meter freestyle.

Freeland then went on to finish third in the 25 SC meter butterfly with a time of 40.90.

Tiffany Leffer was fifth in the 10-and-under 25 SC meter freestyle with a time of 22.64. She was fourth in the 25 SC meter backstroke with a time of 24.77 and fifth in the 50 SC meter freestyle with a time of 51.44. Leffler was seventh in the 25 SC meter breaststroke with a time of 32.50.

In the girls’ 11-and-12-year-old division, Ashlin Trail was fifth in the 50 SC meter freestyle with a time of 54.75. She was sixth in the 50 SC meter backstroke with a time of 1:19.88 and sixth in the 50 SC meter breaststroke with a time of 1:29.39 while placing fifth in the 50 SC meter butterfly with a time of 1:18.37.

William Freeland was fourth in the 11-and-12-year-old age group’s 50 SC meter freestyle with a time of 1:05.19. He was third in the 50 SC meter backstroke with a time of 59.70. Freeland was third in the 50 SC meter breaststroke with a time of 1:05.03.

Kami McWilliams was third in the 13-14-year-old SC meter freestyle with a time of 40.31. McWilliams won the 100 SC meter IM with a time of 1:38.87. McWilliams was second in the 100 SC meter freestyle with a time of 1:31.62 and first in the 100 SC meter breaststroke with a time of 1:46.38.

Eric Leffler was second in the boys 13-14-year-old 50 SC meter freestyle with a time of 34.82. Leffler was third in the 100 SC meter IM with a time of 1:36.20. He was third with a time of 1:22.52 and second in the 50 SC meter butterfly with a time of 43.34.

John Freeland was third in the 15-18 SC meter freestyle with a time of 36.18. Freeland finished fourth in the 100 SC meter IM with a time of 1:31.18 and first in the 100 SC meter backstroke with a time of 1:30.56 and third in the 100 SC meter freestyle with a time of 1:29.95.

Rylan Robb was fourth in the 13-14-year-old SC meter IM with a time of 1:42.96. He was second in the 100 SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 1:21.02 and third in the 50 SC meter butterfly with a time of 52.45.

The foursome of John Freeland, William Freeland, Leffler and Robb finished second in the boys 15-18-year-0ld 200 SC meter medley relay.
