Arrest made after Roxboro man shot dead while celebrating birthday

A man celebrating his 20th birthday was shot and killed in Roxboro on Thursday night, police said.

Police responded to a reported shooting shortly before 9 p.m. at 131 Cleveland Lane. When officers arrived, they found Demaira Williams dead from a single gunshot wound.

Rodney Fuller, 35, of 107-A Person Court in Roxboro, was arrested Friday afternoon at his home and charged with first-degree murder in the case. He was being held without bond in the Person County jail.

Police said a motive for the shooting remains unclear.
