Man Drowns in Concord Pond
CONCORD -- An unidentified man, believed to be in his 70s, drowned while swimming in White Pond on Monday, authorities say.
Emergency crews responded to the pond’s eastern shore at around 2:20 p.m. where CPR was being performed on the victim, according to a Concord Police Department press release.
Police officers and firefighters continued lifesaving efforts on the man. He was then taken to Emerson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police stated.
The incident remains under investigation.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office had not immediately released the name of the victim, pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
