Man to spend one year in jail on uttering and publishing charges
Christopher Wayne Bailey, 45, 3079 N. Tuttle Road, Scottville, was sentenced in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday to one year in jail, with credit for 97 days on a charge of uttering and publishing, habitual offender fourth offense.
Bailey will have to pay back the victims a total restitution of $2,763.78.
Judge Susan K. Sniegowski commended Bailey on the progress he’s made previously in seeking treatment for substance abuse and said she was confident he knew how to change his life for the better.
“I’ve known you for a long time and I would like you to know that I was really proud of the work you were doing while you were in treatment,” Sniegowski said. “You’re very capable of change and you know that. I could sit here and preach to you, but you know how to make these changes.”
