SUWANEE, Ga. (AP) — Police say a Georgia man faces a murder charge after he crashed a car into a home, causing a fire that killed a woman.

Gwinnett County police and firefighters responded to a house fire in Suwanee on Jan. 21. They found a car had hit the home and caught fire.

Police said in news release Wednesday that 24-year-old Ayron Poche was the driver and that he fled the scene.

Police say 72-year-old Janet Keenan was in the home. She tried to escape but fell unconscious. Police say she died Saturday from her injuries.

Poche already faced charges related to the crash, including felony hit and run. A felony murder charge was added after Keenan died.

Poche remained in custody. It wasn’t clear whether he had an attorney.
