A rural Byron man was arrested Monday afternoon for his alleged involvement in a series of construction thefts which occurred over the summer.

Justin Quam, 25, was arrested around 4 p.m. by the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office in the 9500 block of Valleyhigh Drive Northwest in Kalmar Township, according to Capt. Scott Behrns.

Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at a barn and found a large amount of suspected stolen construction material.

It is the second local arrest in three days on suspicion of theft from construction sites.

On Saturday, Matthew Tlougan, 25, was arrested by the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly stole construction equipment from a solar farm under construction in that county. Tlougan is expected to be charged for a significant amount of construction thefts in Olmsted County as well, according to Behrns.

Behrns said Tlougan and Quam were working together on the thefts.
