National City Completes Acquisition of Integra
CLEVELAND (AP) _ National City Corp., a diversified financial services concern, on Friday completed its $2.4 billion acquisition of Integra Financial Corp.
Integra, a Pittsburgh-based banking company, began laying off employees after the takeover was announced in August. The layoffs of about 1,200 workers will be completed by the end of this month, National City spokesman Brad Hemstreet said.
Integra operates more than 260 banks in western Pennsylvania that will take the National City name by the end of the month. Cleveland-based National City operates more than 650 branch offices in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
