Couple plead guilty to drug charges

February 18, 2019

KINGMAN — A Bullhead City couple has entered plea agreements that will send them to the Arizona Department of Corrections for possession of a significant amount of methamphetamine.

An investigation into suspected drug sales prompted a search last March of the defendants’ home in the 700 block of Los Flores Street in northeast Bullhead City.

Bullhead City police said more than nine ounces of meth, a usable amount of cocaine, a drug transaction ledger and more than $1,000 in cash was seized.

Dennis Childers, 61, and Julie Childers, 52, were arrested and jailed on an assortment of drug-related charges.

Deputy Mohave County Attorney Reed Weisberg said both Childers pleaded guilty Tuesday to a reduced count of attempted possession of dangerous drugs for sale. All other charges are dismissed in the separate deals.

Weisberg said both defendants face up to 8.75 years in prison when sentenced separately next month by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert.
