CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Police have charged a man they say scaled a 33-story office tower under construction in North Carolina.

Local media report 23-year-old Charles Lamont Jackson fled when police arrived at the construction site in Charlotte's uptown district Sunday night, but he was caught about a block away.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department records show Jackson has been charged with first-degree trespassing and resisting arrest. No phone number could be found for Jackson.

The office tower Jackson is accused of climbing is part of the Legacy Union Development in uptown Charlotte, and is one of several large buildings under construction in the area. In May, a 24-year-old construction worker died after falling from a 33-story tower under construction near the location Jackson was arrested.
