SEAN HANNITY APPEARS AT TRUMP RALLY

NEW YORK (AP) — It was a question asked throughout the day about Fox News host Sean Hannity appearing at President Trump’s final midterm election rally: will he or won’t he be there? Despite denials from Hannity and Fox, the conservative TV host did show up at the rally in Missouri last night. Trump himself invited Hannity to the stage as a “special guest.” Throughout the day, Fox said Hannity wouldn’t be onstage at the rally — and Hannity tweeted he would “not be on stage campaigning with the president” but “covering” the final rally for his show. That veneer faded quickly as Hannity took the stage and called reporters covering the event “fake news.” As Trump invited Hannity up, he described him and Fox News as though they were campaign workers, saying they were “very special” and had “done an incredible job” for Trump “from the beginning.”

HANNITY APPEARANCE WITH TRUMP AT RALLY SCRUTINZED

NEW YORK (AP) — Fox News Host Sean Hannity’s appearance alongside President Donald Trump at a campaign rally last night is raising eyebrows — and questions. One of those questions — is whether Fox and Hannity were being truthful when they said he wouldn’t be onstage at the rally. Even as the denials came, Trump was billing Hannity as a “special guest.” The head of the liberal media watchdog group Media Matters for America says either way you look at it, “this is a problem.” Angelo Carusone says, “either Fox News lied all day” about their ties with Trump or Fox “simply doesn’t have any control over Sean Hannity.” One side note: last night’s rally appearance wasn’t shown on Fox News Channel, but was aired on C-SPAN.

TRUMP CAMPAIGN AD DITCHED BY NBC, FOX AND FACEBOOK

NEW YORK (AP) — It’s rare that NBC, Fox News Channel and Facebook will all agree on something — but in this case they have. All three media outlets have stopped airing President Donald Trump’s campaign ad featuring an immigrant convicted of killing two police officers. CNN had already rejected the same ad, declaring it racist. Speaking to reporters yesterday, Trump was asked if he considered the ad offensive. He replied, “a lot of things are offensive” — then told the reporter, “Your questions are offensive a lot of times.”

PIPE BOMBING SUSPECT MAKES COURT APPEARANCE TODAY

NEW YORK (AP) — The man who sent pipe bombs to CNN, actor Robert De Niro and prominent Democrats has a court appearance set for today in New York City. Cesar Sayoc was transferred from federal custody in Florida in advance of today’s hearing, which will be his first in New York. Prosecutors say they will ask a judge to hold him without bail because he is considered dangerous. Authorities say Sayoc sent improvised explosive devices to numerous Democrats, critics of President Donald Trump and CNN. The bomb scares ratcheted up tension before the midterm elections — which are today, the same day as Sayoc’s court appearance.

IDRIS ELBA - SEXIEST MAN ALIVE

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The results are in. And the popular vote has gone to Idris Elba. The British actor has been named the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine. The decision was announced on last night’s edition of “The Tonight Show.” And in an interview for People, Elba says the honor comes as a surprise. No surprise here though — Elba also says being named sexiest man alive is a huge ego boost. Last year’s winner was country music star Blake Shelton. Other recent winners include Dwayne Johnson, David Beckham, Chris Hemsworth, Adam Levine and Channing Tatum.
