Cleveland man killed after being intentionally run over with car after argument, police say

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 61-year-old man died after being hit with a car and backed over after an argument, police said.

Louis Cheris died in the incident. Cleveland police are investigating his death as a homicide.

Cheris and another man argued about 12:30 a.m. Friday on West 112th Street and Lorain Avenue in the city’s West Boulevard neighborhood, police said.

The man Cheris argued with then hit Cheris and a 45-year-old woman with his black Pontiac G6, police said.

The driver then intentionally put the car in reverse and backed over Cheris before speeding away, according to police.

The 45-year-old woman was treated and released from Metro. Cheris died at the hospital several hours later, police said.

No arrests have been made in the case.

It’s the third homicide in as many days in Cleveland.
